Pueblo Colorado is located in Southern Colorado along the southern edge of the state's major growth corridor. Historically a transportation junction, the city lies 110 miles south of Denver at the crossroads of two major highways - Interstate 25 and U.S. Highway 50.

Puebloans govern themselves under a home-rule charter which provides for council-manager form of government. Pueblo City Council Manager and seven elected council members serve staggered four-years terms. Appointed by the Council, the City Manager employs professional department heads to assist in the management of numerous city services.

Pueblo County operates with three elected commissioners who each serve staggered four-year terms. Each commissioner oversees a certain area of the county's provided services. Other elected county officials include the county clerk, assessor, coroner, district attorney, sheriff, and county and district judges.
